My Guardian Angel

I have a guardian angel, his name is Cherokee,
And for many, many years he has looked after me.

The first time that I saw him he was standing by my bed,
His arms folded right across his chest and feathers on his head.

His clothes were very colourful as he stood there full of grace;
He had quite a powerful presence and a lovely handsome face.

At first I was quite frightened, I didn’t know what to think,
If I hadn’t known any better I would have put it down to drink.

He told me not to be afraid and that he always would protect me,
And just as quick as he’d appeared, he turned around and left me.

I lay there for some time as I didn’t know what to feel,
But as his presence left me I knew that he was real.  

So if you ever meet your guardian angel there’s nothing for you to fear,
Although I’ve never seen mine again, I know he’s always near.
